Passar (Swiss customs system)

Passar is the new digital goods-traffic system of the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG), replacing e-dec.

The BAZG (Federal Office for Customs and Border Security) is Switzerland's federal customs authority.

PAEDS — Passar Export Declaration Submission

A PAEDS (Passar Export Declaration Submission) is the structured XML message used to lodge a Swiss export customs declaration with the BAZG Passar system.

PAEAD — Passar Export Assessment Decision

A PAEAD (Passar Export Assessment Decision) is the legally binding export assessment decision (Veranlagungsverfügung Ausfuhr) that the BAZG issues after an export consignment is released in Passar.

PAIDS — Passar Import Declaration Submission

A PAIDS (Passar Import Declaration Submission) is the structured XML message used to lodge a Swiss import customs declaration with the BAZG Passar system.

PAIAD — Passar Import Assessment Decision

A PAIAD (Passar Import Assessment Decision) is the legally binding import assessment decision (Veranlagungsverfügung Einfuhr) that the BAZG issues in Passar.

PATDS — Passar Transit Declaration Submission

Chartera

Chartera is the BAZG's output-document repository, where the documents issued in Passar are stored.

ePortal.admin.ch

ePortal.admin.ch is the BAZG's production portal, where assessment decisions are visible.

ePortal-a.admin.ch

ePortal-a.admin.ch is the BAZG's test (acceptance) environment for parallel runs and the counterpart to the production portal ePortal.admin.ch.

GP-ID

A GP-ID is the Passar Geschäftspartner-ID, the identifier of a business partner in the system.

Veranlagungsverfügung

A Veranlagungsverfügung is the formal Swiss customs assessment decision — the umbrella term for the legally binding decision of the BAZG on a customs declaration.
